Go watch her talk about Rick Warren over at Ed Brayton’s place. I had seen the old video Maddow dug up on YouTube, but it was a lower quality version, where it wasn’t clear what exactly Warren was agreeing to when he said “I do.” Now we know for sure: Rick Warren thinks gay relationships are equivalent to incest and paedophilia. No, he didn’t say the other things were just in some unspecified way relevant to the gay marriage debate (which is the impression he tries to give in his recently released video), he actually said “equivalent to.” And then he lied about it. Maddow also catches Warren in incoherence over the issue of “hate speech.” But I also agree with Katha Pollitt: unless the relevant clips are edited to be right next to each other, Warren looks pretty good.
