I’ve spent the last few days drafting a post on Craig Keener’s book Miracles. It ended up being the second-longest book review I’ve ever written, which I don’t mind, but it also ended up rather disorganized, which I do mind, so I’m going to hold off posting until I can re-write it.

Until then: anyone else read the book? Thoughts on it? Things you’d especially like me to cover? If you haven’t read it, but have read about it, are there parts you’re especially curious about based on what you’ve heard second-hand? And is there anything related to modern miracle claims, but not specifically related to Keener’s book, that you would like me to discuss?

So what do people want me to write about?

Throw ideas at me, people. Some aspect of William Lane Craig’s work I’ve overlooked so far? Plantinga? The relationship between science and philosophy? I’ve tended to judge reader interest in posts by the amount of comments they get, but that’s not a perfect measure–are there any posts you loved even though they didn’t get much discussion?

Mike Haubrich has just informed me that Minnesota Atheists’ Atheist Talk radio programming will be rebroadcasting the interview I did with them this Sunday–on Easter! Mike actually didn’t realize it would be Easter Sunday until I pointed it out to him. I’ve never quite seen the point of signing up for Twitter, but when Google buzz came out, I realized I could use it without going to the trouble of signing up for anything, and it would make a good repository for random thoughts and links that really have no business going up on the blog. Except I have no idea what I’m doing. Can someone–particularly someone who doesn’t already have me in their Google address book–please verify that they can find my on buzz just by searching “Chris Hallquist”?

I wish WordPress let you automatically delete comments containing more than a fixed number of links–say five. There’s a system for holding in moderation any comment with too many links, but after a certain number of links the chance that a comment isn’t spam drops to approximately zero. I just had to go through and delete 96 comments that my commenting system couldn’t identify as spam on its own, and so got held in moderation. But I had to go through them on the off chance that there was a legit comment in moderation somewhere. Comment moderation needs to be for comments that are hard to sort out at first glance as legit or not. Comments with fifty links don’t fit that category.

On a related note, if you’re a new reader who’s trying to comment but can’t, drop me a message, I’ll see if your comment got marked as spam.

Radio annoucement and open thread

At 9:06 tomorrow, Eastern time, I’ll be doing a radio interview about my book. You won’t actually be able to listen to it on the radio unless you live in the area of Thurmont, Maryland, but everyone else will be able to listen online here.
