Becoming an atheist is the most liberating thing that ever happened to me. Not just in terms of liberation from religious dogma, but in terms of liberation from common opinion. Once you realize that you can live in a world where millions of people are offended by your mere existence without anything bad happening to you, you’re well on your way to realizing how trivial most of the things people spend their time worrying about are.

This is one of the most singularly awesome things I have read in months.
